Blisters 2014 is everything you want from an exhibition: Interesting, handmade, limited edition screen-printed posters at the ridiculously affordable price of £40. What more could you ask for? Oh, how’s about it being held in a beautiful industrial space in East London with Sipsmith gin cocktails, beer, burgers and music into the night. By Khutina Griffiths.
That was the scene at the 5th Blisters, an exhibition with a difference, where 40 artists were handpicked to produce work at the Print Club London Studios around a central theme – all to be sold during the event. This year’s theme was music, with the pieces all open to the artists’ interpretation.
The night quickly went from one of dignified perusal, to straight up Friday clubnight (once the band came on). I pocketed a delightful Casper Williamson Polar Bear print, perused the beautiful bound books at the GF Smith stand and rested in the upstairs screen room. All in all, it was a great night and definitely the way I like to buy my art!
Keep an eye out for next year or check out www.printclublondon.com for more information.

I love this kind of thing. It’s not far from where I live too!
