Corrie wins BAFTA battle…but not in the style stakes!

The Bafta TV Awards had many glued to the television last night, with some of the UK’s most popular soap stars in attendance….

However, despite reigning supreme for some time, Eastenders were pipped to the post by the Corrie crew, who looked (even if they were acting) very surprised to steal the scene. But alas, even though the cast took home a gong for best soap, they were unable to beat the Eastenders leading ladies or some of the other stars in the red carpet style stakes…

BAFTA TV Awards red carpet style described:

In third place: Emilia Fox (Silent Witness) looked stunning in a gold, floor length gown with belt detailing, by William Vintage. The loose sleeveless top was nipped in at the waist, accentuating the full skirt perfectly. Large gold earrings and an up-do with ringlet tendrils finished off Emilia’s classic and sophisticated look.

In second place: Jacqueline Jossa looked nothing like her Eastenders character, Lauren Branning! Wearing a champagne coloured floor length gown, the floor to thigh split was very on trend, giving a sexy twist to what could have been a too-demure style for the young actress.  Jaqueline’s dressed was glammed up with what looked like golden leaves which danced across the sheer top of her dress – Jacqueline looked comfortable yet stylish.

Joint first place: Wow! Fearne and Holly looked TA!

Holly wore a baby pink, floor length gown with a silver sparkly belt which added glitz to her Jenny Packham dress – (Kate Middleton is a fan of JP). The gold clutch and big golden hair worked perfectly with the colour of the dress. Th look was a bit Abba and a bit Eurovision, but it worked on Holly. Fearne Cotton complimented Holly’s style with a sparkly, gold, floor length number (same stylist?). She looked so vintage, with her 1920s flapper style andside swept curls – the bigger the hair, the closer to heaven eh Fearne? With a vintage gold  and black clutch bag … the whole look was to die for.

Well done ladies, well done!

Stars worth a mention:

  • Millie Mackintosh (Made in Chelsea) in Grecian style white dress – Stunning but predictable.
  • Davina McCall in zebra print knee length dress with belt – Not a good look.
  • Kelly Brook in tutu lace dress – Too short and girly.
  • Amy Childs (Only Way is Essex) in predictable skin tight fitted dress – Too bright, too tight, nuff said.
  • Lydia Bright (Towie) in uninspiring white dress,  which was a tad too loose – Average.

Hmmm, short vs long on the red carpet….Wadyatink?
