Christmas is coming!
Christmas is coming, so what on earth are you going to wear to all of those parties? This season’s key trends like the pencil skirt, shift dress, midi length and maxi length are on the pages of every fashion blog and women’s mag…but if you know what they are called, do you really know what they are? Check out StyleAble’s trend translator below… Pencil skirt: A popular style in the 1950s, the pencil skirt was frequently seen in women’s... Read More

Bodymetrics
Lying on the bed, up against the dressing table, on the floor or hanging onto the bed frame – no matter what technique you use to put on your skinny jeans or even this season’s flares, there is just no getting around it, ill-fitting jeans are never ok… …If you thought you could take the easy route by avoiding the trouser trend this coming season, think again. Jeans and trousers were on every catwalk at LFW, which means they are big business for... Read More
Oh Carine!
So, I have just bought the latest edition of the Gentlewoman magazine – A biannual lifestyle magazine which I love for its large, bold print, eccentric design and for the simple fact that it is massive! (It should be, I have to wait a whole 6 months for my next fix). They also have great interviews. In this issue, they spoke to the previous Editor of French Vogue, Carine Roitfeld about her life after Vogue. Now, it is well documented that Carine does not like handbags because... Read More
The Bob is back in town!
BBBBbaby, the Bob is back in town – great news because it is one of the easiest lengths to pull off. We are loving the straight no bend bob and the longer length bob cut – which is everywhere at the moment (Fearne Cotton’s got one, so it must be right!). Low maintenance, cool in the summer, chic in the winter. If you opt for the longer length you can also pull it back into a cute, short ponytail – top points for style and ease! The best way to get yourself... Read More
Get organised!
Isn’t August a weird month? I’m never sure what the weather is going to be like, so I’m not really sure what to wear – summer dresses or the new season stuff … or both? Whatever, the truth is that this is probably the best time of year to get organised and make the transition between seasons as hassle free as possible. Look at the benefits: 1. Organising your wardrobe – Sooo much quicker and easier to get dressed in the morning! Especially if sight loss makes... Read More
Maxi anyone?
I have been trying to avoid the maxi length trend for some time now and I actually seem to be getting away with it. This may be because I haven’t been out in a while due to a newly refurbished home. (When I say out, what I mean is – yes, I have been to Asda and to the odd dinner party, but I have been quite lax in attending fashion shows and events). Instead, I have been getting some work done in my new office, working on the redesign of StyleAble and sending numerous... Read More
Whoever invented the wedge heel…
Whoever invented the wedge heel deserves a medal. Not only are they comfortable, but they are far more stable than the average high heel. We often talk about heels vs flats on StyleAble, but I think that a wedge heel could be the happy medium. No tottering around on a pin for me! I just bought a pair of black, canvas, round toed wedges from New Look for under £10 (in the sale of course) but goodness me are they impressive…so impressive were they, that I bought a second pair... The benefits of having a good ol’ natter!
The 'Cartier twins' from a recent 'Out and About' trip in Central London Ok, so I have been accused of updating this blog with too many mini articles…What’s wrong with that? So, this time I have decided to give visitors an update on what is happening with StyleAble instead. I am always on the look out for new additions to the team, so I was very grateful to receive a message on Twitter from Sunil Peck @DisbailityNow, who was keen to put me in touch with a writer... Sixth Scent
One of the things I love about living in Europe is that it is extremely popular to kiss on both cheeks. Not only do I find this much more welcoming than the formal handshake, but being an extremely nosey person (in more ways than one), it also gives me an opportunity to sniff out fragrant clues… You see, I have found that a fragrance can say a thousand words. So when it comes to meeting new people, their choice of perfume can be an all important window into their personality... Read More
