Herbalife CleanserFor many of us, describing our skin as temperamental would be an understatement. The day-to-day stresses and tribulations of battling weather, juggling a schedule and raising children (all whilst balancing a spreadsheet on your knee) can take its toll on your skin. Fortunately, Herbalife’s ‘7-day results’ may be exactly what your skin is thirsty for…

By Neal Dakota

Clinically tested and containing a power-blend of Vitamin B, antioxidant Vitamins C & E and Aloe Vera, the products are designed to penetrate deep into the skin.

I received three products from Herbalife SKIN, plucked from their ‘7-day results’ program. I always enjoy minimal and professional packaging, so the sleek concept and water droplet design were a winning combination for me. The  products are also numbered so there is no confusion as to the order in which you apply them.

First, I tried the Polishing Citrus cleanser (£19.25). The instructions say to gently massage onto damp skin which removes make-up and impurities, then rinse with warm water and use both morning and evening. Sometimes my sensitive skin can handle a lot,  then at other times it’s like prodding a dragon with a hot poker! You just don’t do it. So, when I noticed the cleanser was infused with citrus and best suited for normal to oily skin, I was initially a little hesitant. The citrus inside the gel based cleanser will not only break down excess oil on the skin, but it’ll also remove dead skin cells. Allowing more oxygen to the skin will brighten the complexion and help carry the nutrients deeper into the skin’s layers. Jojoba oil is the oil most similar to the skin’s natural sebum, so Herbalife added polishing jojoba beads to give the skin a little hug after you’re done buffing. The delicious fragrance in this cleanser is incredibly uplifting and reminds me of orange fruit pastilles.

Herbalife SKIN’s Hydrating Eye Cream (£30.30) was definitely the product that surprised me the most. The consistency felt like the cream had been whipped into a mousse, and was incredibly soothing under my eyes. The cream helpe to eliminate under eye puffiness and bags, lines and wrinkles, and discolouration –  apply in gentle patting motions with your ring finger. The fragrance is light and uplifting and did not irritate my skin at all. With Macadamia Nut oil and Aloe Vera, this serum will hydrate and sooth the eye area. In 7 days I saw a definite improvement to the skins texture and under-eye discoloration. I now like to think of this product as my ‘yes, of course I slept for 8 hours!’.

Herbalife MoisturiserThe star of the show has to be Herbalife’s Daily Glow moisturiser (£32.65). Infused with soothing ingredients like Aloe Vera, Chamomile and rich Macadamia oil, applying this moisturiser is like wrapping your skin in cotton wool. With specks of light reflecting particles, this moisturiser will help blur skins imperfections and enhance your newfound glow!

Herbalife SKIN’s philosophy also details their personal prohibition towards the use of surfactants and parabens in their products. Surfactants are used in many cosmetic products that lather to lift dirt from hair, skin and teeth. Parabens are commonly used as preservatives in cosmetics. However, since the 1920’s both have caused controversy about toxicity within the human body. So along with great products, Herbalife SKIN definitely have a strong ethos.

Due to the light texture and silky consistency of their products, Herbalife SKIN encourage you to use their products twice a day, morning and night. I definitely saw an improvement in my skin and cannot wait to explore the brand further.
