If you are at all scared of colour, then it is time to be brave because as seen at London Fashion Week, designers have gone colour mad…

Purple dress from Christopher Kane collection at London Fashion Week

Man of the moment Christopher Kane brought purple, blue and red to centre stage today with not one, not two, but whole rows of models sporting his feminine but hard edged designs.  Fashionistas on the front row were brought to tears (I mean this literally!) by his collection which even had Anna Wintour upright in her seat.

Kane kept everyone waiting a full 40 minutes for the show to start, however, despite the wait most were happy to stay seated on the amazing purple carpeted benches.

What a show! – Black leather jackets, square panels at the back and front, vertical black and white stripes on fur jackets and silk trousers.  Pony skin, animal print, dresses and jackets that were draw strung in at the neck and waist by wide leather cables – Oh and let’s not forget the purple, chiffon dresses appliquéd with black velvet flowers and teamed with thin pliable leather floated down the runway, whilst jackets or tube skirts in a subtle purple leopard print kept the front row druelling.  Just so much colour, colours that lead so perfectly into a delicious red and then into beaded detailing… *Swoon*

It was a real joy. Oh yes, and it doesn’t hurt that one of the best designers in the world is British…Hoorah!

Did I mention that I love Christopher Kane?
